Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the InSnap software, website and the optional InSnap Pro license and InSnap Cloud service (together, the “Service”), provided by InSnap (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
1. The software and your license
InSnap is a desktop application for capturing, annotating and recording your screen. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use InSnap on devices you own or control, subject to these terms.
The free version is provided free of charge. Some features require an InSnap Pro license (see “Purchases”). InSnap includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms; their notices are included with the application.
2. What you may not do
- Copy, sell, rent, sublicense or share your Pro activation code or license beyond the number of devices it allows.
- Circumvent, disable or tamper with license checks, or use a modified build to unlock paid features.
- Reverse engineer or decompile the software, except where applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
- Use InSnap or the Service to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or capture content you have no right to capture.
3. Purchases and billing
- InSnap Pro is a one-time purchase of a license key that unlocks Pro features on up to 3 of your devices and includes future updates of the software. It is not a subscription.
- InSnap Cloud is a recurring monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.
- Prices are shown in US dollars on our website. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
- Orders are processed by our payment provider, whose terms apply to the transaction. A failed renewal payment may suspend your Cloud subscription.
- We may change prices for new purchases and renewals; we will give notice before a change affects an existing subscription.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
4. Your account (Cloud)
InSnap Cloud requires an account, created with your email address. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Your content and acceptable use
You own the content you upload. You give us the limited permission needed to store it, process it and deliver it to the people you share links with.
You must not upload or share content that is illegal; infringes copyright or other rights; contains malware; sexually exploits minors; harasses, threatens or defames others; or discloses another person’s private information without permission. Cloud is for sharing your captures, not a general-purpose file host or content delivery network.
We may remove content, disable share links or suspend accounts that violate these rules, and we respond to valid takedown notices. To report content, email support@insnap.app or use the report link on a shared page.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and forms part of these terms.
7. Updates and changes to the Service
We may release updates, and we may add, change or retire features and services. Your Pro license covers updates released for the software. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes to paid features.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that stored content will never be lost — keep your own backups of important files.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or limits mandatory consumer rights in your country.
10. Termination
You may stop using InSnap at any time and delete your Cloud account in the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or misuse the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which InSnap is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence continue to apply to you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
