InSnap for support
A support reply is clearer when it shows the exact step. InSnap records the fix, redacts customer data and turns the recording into numbered screenshots you can paste into a ticket.
Support teams repeat the same explanations all day. Capture the screen, annotate the control, blur the customer data and save the result as a reusable guide instead of rewriting the same message.
What you can do
- Capture the exact control and annotate it with an arrow or number.
- Blur or solid-cover names, emails, order IDs, tokens and card data.
- Apply the same redaction across every step of a guide.
- Record a short MP4 with system audio and microphone for a colleague.
- Export a guide to PDF for a customer or HTML/Markdown for the knowledge base.
- Use optional Cloud share links with expiry and password when a file is too large for chat.
A support reply workflow
- Reproduce the issue and capture the first step.
- Number the steps and mark the exact button or field.
- Redact customer data before anything leaves your machine.
- Record the fix once if the steps are hard to explain in text.
- Export the guide or paste the screenshots into the ticket.
Why local matters
Support screenshots often contain customer names, emails, order data and internal URLs. InSnap keeps capture, OCR and redaction local by default. Cloud is optional and separate from Pro.
Honest limits
- No Linux build: macOS 14.4+ and Windows 10+ only.
- Cloud share links are an optional subscription; Pro does not include Cloud.
- Redaction is only as good as the box you draw; check the whole frame before sending.
FAQ
Can I hide customer data in a screenshot?
Yes. Use a solid filled shape or a strong mosaic, then check the whole frame. Blur is the weakest option for secrets.
Can I blur every step of a guide?
Yes. Apply the redaction once in the guide editor and copy it to all steps.
Do I need Cloud to send a guide?
No. You can export a PDF, HTML, Markdown, Word or PowerPoint file and attach it. Cloud is optional for hosted links.
